Unity Sand Ceremonies!

Why have a Sand Ceremony?
Sometimes in a Wedding Ceremony words are just not enough to communicate what a Bride and Groom think and feel and so a symbol of meaning, like a Sand Ceremony can be used. The Sand Ceremony is often described as a Unity Ceremony as it unifies the lives of the Bride and Groom, and their family and friends.

Sand ceremonies generally involve just the couple, as a meaningful symbolic joining of two lives. The couple ceremoniously pour various colours of unity sand from separate vases into one special vase, the unity vase, symbolizing their coming together as one. This vase can be displayed privately or for all to see for years
to come, the symbol of the couple’s love is always present and treasure forever. The blending of the wedding sand
represents the union, not only of the couple but their friends and families as well.

The Sand Ceremony is also a perfect way of joining blended families. If either the bride or the groom (or both) have children, their marriage is more than just the union of two hearts, as well as the couple, each child can pour sand,
representing the creation of a new family.
