Rustic weddings are huge trend in weddings right now, couples are choosing to create a more relaxed feel to their wedding by using items that create a very natural and earthy atmosphere. Rustic weddings are all about using natural products such as burlap, lace, timber, logs, branches, birch trees and flowers. Rustic weddings also have a country or vintage feel, and are often set amongst a garden backdrop, farm or barn setting.

What is Burlap? Burlap (also known as hessian) is a coarse canvas fabric woven from jute fibres, with a natural beige colour. Burlap is an eco friendly material, so perfect for couples who are environmentally conscious.

How to create the perfect ‘Rustic’ atmosphere:

Place flowers in old fashioned glass milk jugs, vintage jars or jam jars.
Decorate your wedding tables with burlap tablecloths or runners.
Wrap burlap and lace around various sized glass jars and use as candle holders.
Use old wooden crates, wine barrels or old farm equipment to add to the rustic feel.
For perfect wedding favours, try using handmade or home baked goods such as honey, jam, cookies and offer them in decorated mini mason jars.
If the venue permits, have an outdoor bonfire to warm up the evening.
